THE TIKI COLLECTIVE RELEASE THEIR DEBUT ALBUM, “MUSE”
THURSDAY, AUGUST 16 @ THE BERKELEY CHURCH FIELD HOUSE - 311 QUEEN ST. EAST
Tickets: https://www.bemusednetwork.com/events/detail/524
DOORS 7:00PM / CONCERT 8:00PM
The Tiki Collective is a large ensemble of instrumentalists and vocalists based in Toronto who have performed around Ontario for the past two years and will celebrate the launch of their debut album with a concert and party at The Berkeley Church Field House, a brand new venue that will make people in the city feel like they are on holiday in Muskoka. It’s the perfect ambience for music fans and especially those who enjoy Tiki culture. The all-star band will back up over a dozen vocalists, all of whom appear on the debut disc that will be available at the concert. Produced by Jaymz Bee and Jono Grant, Muse is released on Vesuvius Music and distributed via Slammin Media and Believe.
The Tiki Collective was formed in 2016 for Jaymz Bee’s 53rd birthday at Lula Lounge in Toronto. The large ensemble decided after one show they should continue performing live, and so far have performed at The Horseshoe Tavern, The Painted Lady, Massey Hall and festivals across Ontario.
Jaymz Bee worked at JAZZ.FM91 for over 16 years and has recently moved on to pursue other musical and artistic ventures. He and business partner Lorenzo DiGianfelice have created an indie label called Vesuvius Music and will create a series of albums and concerts beginning with Muse by The Tiki Collective.
“It's no secret that I am a huge fan of Eric St-Laurent,” says Jaymz Bee. A couple of years ago, when I told him I dreamed of having a large group of musicians and singers playing Exotica music, we quickly dove into blending world, jazz, surf and pop. Members can change but the songs and sound remain. It’s always the same and completely different!
“When Jaymz explained that this project would assist a number of young singers and veteran musicians (both financially and with exposure), I knew it would either be a successful business venture or I’d be a patron of the arts,” adds DiGianfelice. “Regardless, I knew I would feel great, and I was right. Throughout the process of making this recording there was a magic in the air!”
Muse by The Tiki Collective is the type of record you can play in the evening by the pool, in the car to calm road rage, after dinner with a glass of wine, or through your headphones to chill out wherever you may be. Copies of Muse will be available on CD at the concert for $20.
